The School Opening Ceremony for SUFE MPA Students 2013 & Degree Ceremony for SUFE MPA Graduates 2013 was successfully held.
On March 1, 2014, the School Opening Ceremony for SUFE MPA Students 2013 & Degree Ceremony for SUFE MPA Graduates 2013 was held in the lecture hall, 2nd floor, Administration Building on Guoding Road. The School Opening Ceremony was hosted by Secretary Shen Hui and attended by Professor Zheng Shaohua, a PhD tutor and executive vice president of the Graduate School, Professor Yu Wei, a PhD tutor and president of the School of Public Economics and Administration, Shen Hui, party branch secretary of the School of Public Economics and Administration, Associate Professor Fang Fang, vice president of the School of Public Economics and Administration, Associate Professor Zeng Jimao, director of the MPA Education Center, and Professor Ding Haijiao, a part-time professor and tutor of the School of Public Economics and Administration, head of the former Shanghai Municipal Inspection Team and vice secretary of Luwan District Committee as well as leaders of cooperating organizations and the school’s faculty representatives.
Associate Professor Zeng Jimao expressed gratitude to all leaders, guests, teachers and students for participating in the ceremony on behalf of the MPA Education Center, SUFE and introduced all leaders, guests and teachers to the participants one by one. Then, the ceremony started in the solemn national anthem.
115 new MPA students of 2013 and 120 MPA graduates of 2013 and their family members attended the ceremony.
Professor Zheng Shaohua, vice president of the Graduate School, SUFE, made a welcome speech. He briefly introduced SUFE’s graduate teaching and MPA talents’ development objectives to all students and teachers and expressed his expectations for all MPA students to develop MPA’s public spirits.
Professor Yu Wei, president of the School of Public Economics and Administration, delivered a speech where he analyzed MPA’s teaching objectives and directions from a perspective of modern governance.
Professor Ding Haijiao presented a speech as a representative of graduate tutors, where he expressed sincere graduations to all students as well as the tutors and teachers who have developed a group of good students through hard work.
Student Jin Yang made a speech as a representative of graduates of 2013, where he expressed sincerest gratitude and highest regards to the university, school and teachers on behalf of all graduates and hoped that all junior students could overcome difficulties with the philosophy of “where there is persistence, there is hope and you reap what you sow” to realize their dreams.
Student Tang Xuanna made a speech as a representative of new MPA students of 2013, where she thanked SUFE and the MPA Center for providing a learning platform for students and would cherish the hard-won opportunity and go all out to properly complete each learning task.
Professor Yu Wei announced the list of outstanding graduates and presented awards to them.
Associate Professor Fang Fang announced the list of outstanding paper authors and presented awards to them.
Professor Zheng Shaohua, vice president of the Graduate School announced the degree-awarding decision of SUFE’s Academic Degrees Committee and issued degree certificates to the graduates of 2013.
After taking a group photo, the new students of 2013 had a discussion with their teachers respectively by region. The discussion enhanced mutual knowledge and understanding between the teachers and students. Listening to students’ suggestions and hope could enable teachers to teach in a specific way and improve teaching quality, which will help students better apply what they learn and improve their quality.
The ceremony has deepened new students’ knowledge and understanding of SUFE, the School of Public Economics and Administration and the MPA Education Center, motivated students to enhance their sense of mission and responsibility, strengthened the communication between students and teachers and established a solid foundation for MPA Education Center to carry out future work.
