I. The forum’s purpose
1. Boost the communication between students and national MPA colleges and schools.
2. Explore new issues, methods and measures in China’s public administration sector.
3. Expand MPA education’s social reputation and influence.
II. Forum theme: Overall urban and rural development and public administration innovation
Seven sub-forums:
1. Equalization of public services in overall urban and rural development
2. Emergencies and public crisis management
3. Construction of social justice and social security
4. Public administration in the Internet age
5. Performance evaluation and government performance management
6. Reform of cadre personnel system and innovation in cadre selection
7. Anti-crime and public governance
III. Forum’s requirements for thesis contribution
1. The submitted thesis shall address a topic from a certain perspective by combining theory and practice based on one of the sub-themes.
2. The thesis shall be theoretically forward-looking and have important practical significance with rigorous research methods, clear viewpoints, substantial materials and standard literature citations.
3. The thesis may be case analysis, subject research and academic research in content, but must have a standard format. It’s required that each of the Chinese and English abstracts shall have 300 words and 3-5 key words, footnotes shall be used (at the bottom of the page), references shall be listed in the last part of the thesis with a brief introduction of the authors.
4. Thesis contribution expires on August 30, 2010. It’s recommended that the theses have less than 6,000 words.
5. Electronic versions of the theses shall be summarized by all university MPA centers and sent by email before the expiry date to MPA2010@cqu.edu.cn. The email title format: XXX University MPA Forum Thesis. All university MPA education centers shall organize teachers and students to write theses in strict accordance with the requirements and send the theses to Chongqing University MPA Education Center before August 30. The Forum Organizing Committee will select some excellent theses to be published in a book.
